Description
Move is currently looking for a talented individual to join our team at our corporate headquarters in Campbell, CA in the role of Senior Business Analyst.
This position is in the Analysis and Research group, part of the Product organization at Move Inc... The Senior Business Analyst takes the lead in working with internal Move product managers and business customers, taking high-level system & business intelligence/reporting requirements and new functionality requests from Move business stakeholders and assists them by preparing business justifications, developing and documenting requirements, evaluating potential solutions, and assisting in the implementation & delivery of the desired solutions to the business stakeholders. The role involves critical interface work with the technology organization for both product development and data management functions
Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan, conduct and direct the analysis of business intelligence problems to be solved with IT systems together with the business cases that support the investment in terms of time and effort.
Lead and/or participate in user design sessions used to gather requirements from the business stakeholders in Move's product management, sales, customer service, and finance departments
Decompose high-level business and user requirements into well-written and organized specification documents
Identify, evaluate and develop functional requirements and specifications as well as document and maintain business process descriptions, flow charts, and change documentation as needed
Create effective mockups of report designs, and work with the business customers to optimize and sign off on report definitions from a content and format perspective
Using the MicroStrategy reporting tool set, create the necessary reports for the business, working with the Data Warehouse team and data source providers to ensure that the core report data is available in the data warehouse for the report generation
Support report and other data output format troubleshooting requests
Provide instruction for and assist in the quality assurance and user acceptance testing processes
Train end users as required on new report functionality
Education, Skills and Experience:
Post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
At least 5 years of professional business analysis and requirements definition
Experience with requirements modeling (SRS, use cases) in particular within the area of business intelligence (analysis cubes, dashboards, dynamic reports)
Past work experience within a medium to large sized website development firm would be beneficial
Real estate industry exposure would be an asset
Strong verbal communication skills and writing ability
Ability to facilitate requirements gathering meetings
Experience with the development of business cases to help define the potential return on investment for a given initiative
Familiar with Software Development Lifecycles (SDLC)
Familiar with diagramming/modeling techniques including context diagrams (use cases, actors, etc), entity relationship modeling (ERDs) and activity flow diagrams
