The iTunes Store is looking for an Analytics Manager to support the organization's senior leadership, content business groups (e.g. music, apps, movies, TV, iBooks) as well as marketing and engineering by providing insights, analysis, and a strategic perspective.
The Analytics Manager will drive the organizational understanding of the popularity and financial viability of existing product features, while also informing the direction of future marketing, product and engineering efforts.
Responsibilities will include the following :
- Analyze iTunes´ transactional and behavioral data across all storefronts and content types
- Partner with cross-functional teams to support negotiations and inform strategic decision making with a quantitative perspective
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to extract conceptual insights from large and diversified data/results, provide hypothesis, and use data insights to answer business questions
- Actively participate in data warehouse strategy and design for iTunes Store
The role is data and analytically intensive. Successful candidates will offer a strategic perspective, sound business judgment, deep analytical capabilities, and a collaborative working style. They will possess strong intellectual curiosity, and a passion for achieving practical business impact. Skills in problem definition, rigorous analysis, and recommendation development will also be critical. Successful candidates will have exceptional interpersonal skills, initiative, and integrity.
- Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills. Hands-on data analytics experience is a must.
- Experience in web analytics is strongly preferred
- Advanced SQL knowledge with a minimum 3 years of experience in handling large data bases. SAS, Hadoop experience a plus
- Good understanding of data warehouse concepts and architecture are required. Data modeling experience preferred.
- Programming and/or scripting experience also a plus (python, perl, etc).
- 3+ years of experience in a data-intensive environment.
- Bachelors Degree required, Graduate Degree preferred, Major in Economics, Maths, Statistics, Operational Research are also preferred
