[KITlist-Tech] CONTR: Jr. Web Application Developer (Any US, Any US)

Please direct your responses to: info@innovelocity.com

[Rate:]

Start $65/hr and increase shortly after, once you get fully productive. It´s negotiable depending on how much skill/experience you have.

1099 basis (sub contractor) not a W2 employee - invoice on Net 30 terms.

[Hours/Duration:]

Totally flexible - minimum 15 hours per week, up to whatever you can support - we have plenty of work.

The project will last at least through 2012 with the possibility of further extension.

[Location:]

Work from home, do not need to come on-site. Remote from any location in the US is acceptable.

[What the company does at a high level:]

We are a VAR (value added reseller) for the Intalio BPMS (business process management system). Intalio BPMS is the standard open source BPMS, being used to automate business processes at over 600 companies in 55 countries. Innovelocity installs the Intalio platform for our clients, trains their staff, and provides consulting / development services to help them automate their business processes using the software. See "Workflow 101" for a high level summary. We have customers mostly in high technology manufacturing, based in Silicon Valley.

[Summary of skills needed:]

a. Databases - able to write/execute/debug SQL queries at a basic to intermediate level. We use MySQL. Experience building business reports is a plus - we have a simple report builder (extension to Eclipse IDE) for taking query output and putting it into tables and graphs

b. Javascript - understanding of how to write Javascript of intermediate complexity and interact with a DOM. We use the Tibco GI (general interface) framework for creating forms, but through a fairly intuitive visual editor (extension to Eclipse IDE).

c. CSS - only basic CSS skills are required. We use clean and simple design for the business applications we build.

d. XML - basic understanding and ability to read/edit XML documents. We use XQuery to manipulate XML, but building is handled through a fairly intuitive visual editor (extension to Eclipse IDE).

e. SOAP web services - basic understanding about what they are and how they work. Ability to debug them using SoapUI is a plus, but it´s easy to learn.

f. Operating System: Windows XP/7. Intalio runs on a prepackaged Tomcat server, and detailed installation instructions for Windows are provided so that you can get a local server running. If you have experience with Tomcat, that´s a plus.

g. BPMN - you don´t need to know it to start with, but processes are build using BPMN flow chart diagrams. The ability to read and understand flowchart diagrams is important.

h. Patience and problem solving! There are a few quirks, and the platform can look intimidating, but we provide a lot of resources to help you learn.

[What training is provided?]

a. Upfront orientation, vendor provided training is also available.

b. Plenty of templates - we tend to build projects using well established templates

c. Vendor provided Wiki with tutorials and examples

d. Q&A anytime.
