Director of Product Management
Based in Santa Clara, CA, Redline Solutions is a small but growing company. Our software applications are the market leaders in traceability for the fresh produce industry. We are seeking a Director of Product Management who can build on our strong foundation of existing applications to deliver world class products as this market space grows exponentially. Reporting to the CEO, you will drive the development and professional services teams (currently 5 people) in the definition, development and delivery of our solutions. This includes the entire cycle from strategic planning through successful customer implementations.
As a product management professional, we will rely on you to have a unique blend of business and technical savvy, a big picture vision, and the drive to make the vision a reality. You must have experience delivering successful software products and driving an agile team from initial requirements through to customer deployment.
Responsibilities:
• Managing the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities
• Understanding industry business practices to identify key opportunities to meet market needs
• Specifying market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going customer and prospect site visits
• Working with customers and sales in order to clarify and prioritize requirements
• Coordinating the roadmap and driving our agile development process to deliver great products
• Participating in pricing, business model and revenue planning
• Leading development and implementation teams from requirements definition through customer implementation and support
• Managing engineering requirements gathering, product specifications process and work closely with Engineering to execute on new product initiatives
• Managing new product and platform development process from end to end, including providing timelines, project plans and updates on deliverables
• Managing release schedule with documentation updates for customers, sales/marketing, and services team
• Overseeing scheduling and delivery of customer implementations and training.
• Developing messaging necessary to support sales and marketing teams to ensure product value propositions and positioning are understood and communicated appropriately
• Providing leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and help team members achieve their optimum performance levels
• Representing RedLine and our products with customers, prospective customers, industry working groups and press
• Building partner relationships with complementary solutions in the marketplace
• Develop and maintain expertise in perishable industries, mobile technologies, and key competitors
Qualifications:
Our ideal candidate will be a self-starter with exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal) as well as the ability to learn, execute and manage shifting priorities.
Required skills and experience:
• Bachelor´s degree or higher
• 5+ years of product management experience
• Successful track record in managing teams to develop and deliver high quality software in an agile development environment
• Demonstrated ability to gather user requirements through first hand interactions and convert them into exceptional products
• Able to provide clearly defined product objectives, business requirements and acceptance criteria
• Experience building and managing development and implementation teams
• Excellent communication skills
Preferred:
• Experience with applications on handheld mobile devices
• Experience with Client Server and SAAS produce delivery models
• History or experience with the fresh produce industry
