Product Manager, Digital Media

We are looking for product leaders to manage multiple areas of the digital fan experience including mobile, web, social media and monetization. You will lead development from conception to launch with our internal team and our partners. You will bridge technical and business worlds as you design solutions working with the engineering team(s), TV Network team, and Sales and Marketing. You have a bias for action and can also think strategically. As a product manager, you will have a major impact in shaping this game-changing sports media company.

Responsibilities:
Responsible for management of web, mobile, and/or social media products across platforms.
Develop the product strategy, vision, roadmap, positioning and execution of all
elements related to the business case.
Partner with product marketing, quality assurance, and content production.
Manage relationships with third-party development partners for each product and
customer service vendors, including the assured performance of Service Level
Agreements, creation of development budgets, and feature release schedules.
Constantly assess competitors, emerging technology, and user base to keep growing and
improving.
Vigilantly protect and advocate brand identity and integrity.
Collaboratively author business and technical requirements and functional specifications with
engineering, detailing new products, product enhancements, or product retirements; acting as an advocate on behalf of end users/personas in the product design process.
Collaborate with partners to implement and manage technical product features; support
ongoing partner relationships, and address issues related to product malfunctions.
Be an advocate for UX and UI design issues throughout engineering and QA phases of
development.
Incorporate social media and mobile capabilities into the Pac-12 Digital Network to
increase brand awareness and fan engagement everywhere, including in- stadium.
Troubleshoot site problems.
Desired Skills & Experience
7 plus years of overall product management, with consumer-driven digital media with a demonstrated history of consistently setting and achieving innovative product roadmaps and organizational objectives in an accelerated time frame.
Demonstrated success in building and managing consumer social media and/or mobile products.
Deep knowledge of content management systems and publishing platforms. Ideally has built and managed a CMS.
Ample experience web publishing, mobile, and/or social media business.
Proven track record in exceptional product development, innovation, and audience
growth.
Understanding of and appreciation for traditional media business models is highly desirable
especially broadcast and cable television
Experience in both large and small companies with the hands-on ability to work with teams in a start-up environment. Experience in taking a business from concept to reality, ideally gained in start-up or new business development environment.
Significant experience, connections, and credibility in the product, design and engineering
digital media community.

Preferred Qualifications:
User-focused instincts for product design and user experience
Leader accustomed to driving results in collaborative, cross-functional environments
with little instruction or oversight
Expert on emerging technologies and trends within the technology industry.
Eloquent communicator (both written and oral) comfortable in front of anyone from a
hard-nosed engineer to a high-level university executive
Great, innovative problem solver that can turn ambiguous problems into clear solutions
BA/BS in Computer Science or a related technical field not required, but a plus
