We´re a small start-up located right next to the San Antonio Caltrain station in Mountain View.
We´re looking for a creative and smart Java J2EE developer to join our growing team.
Responsibilities:
We are a small startup making a big difference. We ship product, we do it often and we do it well. There is no red tape here. We don´t like meetings unless absolutely necessary. Once a day we do a standup and then we get work done.
As an early hire of a growing engineering team you will be able to come up with and influence key architecture and technology decisions. This is a position with a high level of accountability and responsibility, so if you want a position where you´re guaranteed to make an impact, this is it!
We make software that helps people learn better. We sign up new customers every day. Our customers use our product and they care. So do we. Let´s get things done and ship product.
Ideally, you:
- have 10+ years experience developing web based software using Java Spring/J2EE and mySQL
- are proficient in object oriented programming and design skills, and comfortable working at all levels of the applications stack
- have a solid working knowledge building LAMP based cloud solutions in a start-up company
- are motivated and have the ability to work effectively with minimal instruction and supervision; willingness - and ability to multitask and switch context when necessary
- have a can-do attitude and have the team's success as the highest priority
You will be:
- designing & implement new product features in the Knoodle product
- drive and participate in design discussions, features, architecture, technology decisions, etc
- coordinating with product management to ensure what you build matches the requirements
- collaborating with support organization to improve product quality and address technical issues
- communicating and collaborating closely with QA team to ensure product quality and bug fixes
Other desired skills:
- Strong SQL knowledge, including DB designs, query optimization, replication, sharding desirable
- Experience building Adobe Flex applications desirable
- Experience designing secure web applications
- Experience with streaming video technologies and CDNs is highly desirable>
- Experience with Agile (Scrum) development methodology
- Experience building mobile apps using HTML5 and/or native mobile frameworks highly desirable
- Familiar with ActiveMQ, JSON, iBatis, memcached, XML, REST APIs
- Bachelor or Master in CS or related field
