Our client offers advanced security technology in a fast emerging market and is one that is a leader in their space. The company offers products and services to one of the most high profile areas of focus of security in the world today that are sold to Fortune 500 companies and many others. The company is experiencing enormous growth and is now seeking a candidate with a technical pre-sales background from some form of security software or appliance offering in one of the areas of anti-virus, vulnerability, threat management, intrusion detection, information security, security information event management, application security, etc. for this exciting opportunity:
Position title: Sales Engineer
Location: Bay area, California preferred(will consider other qualified candidates located in the Western region)
Do you enjoy leveraging your deep technical security background to convince customers to implement leading edge security solutions? Can you run a sales meeting one day and then create a complex technical demonstration the next? Have you been a consultant, built strong rapport with your customers and grown the business? Do you love operating at a fast pace and working on multiple engagements?
Position responsibilities:
As part of the sales team you are responsible for meeting quarterly and annual revenue goals for the company. You should have experience working with key decision-makers in information security across a variety of industries. You should also have experience in multiple security disciplines and ability to articulate requirements, architect technical solutions and demonstrate capabilities both in sales meeting and proof of concept environments. You should also have experience helping to develop opportunities from initial lead to successful closure, or relevant experience in a professional services, consulting or related role.
Skills required:
•Experience in consulting or sales engineering - particularly in one of the areas of security such as anti-virus, vulnerability, threat management, intrusion detection, information security, etc.
•Ability to explain and demonstrate a complex product
•Superior presentation and communication skills, from in-person and remote presentation through written documentation
•Ability and willingness to use an internal CRM system
•Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to excellence
•Desire to work in multiple functional areas
•Ability to travel as needed within the Western region
Desired skills:
•Experience teaching technical material in a classroom setting
•History of creating rapport with customers, from line technicians to C-level executives
•Technical understanding of incident response, computer forensics, network and application security
•Familiarity with managed security services
•Hands-on experience with intrusion detection systems, security information event management solutions, packet analysis tools and operating system analysis
•Extensive contacts in the information security field
•Understanding of the legal and regulatory requirements pertinent to information security
•Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field
Candidates of interest are those that may have experience from companies such as H-P/Arcsight, McAfee, Symantec, Sourcefire, Verisign, RSA Security, Q1 Labs, Solarwinds, Tripwire, Dell-Secureworks,etc. or any others in these areas of security offerings.
