Responsibilities include: conducting analysis of network capacity and forecasting, hardware/software upgrade planning, technical budget forecasting, technical project planning, and ensuring technical documentation remains updated and relevant. This position is responsible for ensuring agency IT security standards and best practices for WAN/LAN, application, server, desktop, and login are in place, updated, and adhered to by contractors and agency staff.
Environment includes; LINUX, Windows 2003, and Windows 2008 server environments functioning as FTP, Active Directory, Application, Database, EPO, SMTP, Exchange, Symantec Ghost and Utility servers. The desktop environment includes Windows XP and Windows 7 desktops supporting both thin client and web applications.
Must have: BA/BS in CS, IT, IS; or a related discipline. Those with a Master´s degree will be given first consideration.
A minimum of 7 yrs of increasingly complex and diverse IT experience, including technology systems planning, Windows/Linux server administration, and IT systems project management.
Two years of full lead/supervisory responsibility for a major IT function in a high availability systems environment is preferred. Additional professional work experience is highly desired.
LAN/WAN concepts, telecommunications including MPLS, BGP, HSRP, DS3, Ethernet, and single mode/multi-mode and Internet gateway management, including an understanding of the OSI model. Knowledge of various OS, protocols, services, and utilities: Windows 2003/2008 server, Linux, Unix, Exchange, MS .net framework and SMTP. Preference will be given to those that possess demonstrated skill in technical project management, delivery of complex IT solutions in a high availability environment, SDLC, and technical solutions standards.
