The Platforms team designs and builds the software, hardware, computing platform and networking technologies that power all of Google´s services.
The role: Technical Lead/Manager, Platforms
As a Technical Lead/Manager you will provide technical leadership over a team of highly talented software engineers. You will be responsible for the overall planning, execution, and success of complex technical projects. This position is not a pure management position; TLMs are expected to contribute technically to their project. Our interview process will emphasize technical skills and management/organizational skills equally.
Responsibilities:
* Manage a team of software engineers, including task planning and code reviews.
* Drive technical projects and provide leadership in an innovative and fast-paced environment.
* Take responsibility for the overall planning, execution and success of complex technical projects.
* Contribute technically to projects.
Requirements:
* CS degree or equivalent work experience.
* At least 5 years experience in a technical lead and/or managerial capacity.
* Strong programming capabilities in at least one of the following: Java, C++ or Python.
* Strong leader capable of motivating and energizing the very best.
* Excellent communication abilities.
* Demonstrated expertise in problem solving and technical innovation.
* A background in networking, storage, systems architecture, compilers, operating systems and/or modeling and analysis is a plus.
