Our client´s Environmental Technologies group is seeking an experienced Lab Technician with a background in electronics and computer science to support industry-leading programs to increase environmental performance. The individual will join a team of lab technicians testing products against Apple´s environmental specifications, with a specific focus on evaluating energy efficiency and energy consumption.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Write custom software solutions to automate the measurement of specific power tests, evaluate results, and generate reports
- Use Apple test software to measure power consumption and debug hardware-related issues
- Conduct system-level energy efficiency and consumption tests and evaluate results
The candidate should be prepared to:
- Work with the Environmental Technologies and hardware engineering teams in a high pace demanding environment
- Assist in developing and documenting new test methodologies and electrical test fixtures (e.g. circuit breakout boards, current/voltage measurements)
Required Experience:
- Associates degree in electronics or electrical technology, computer science, or Physical Sciences with experience in electronics and computer science
- 3+ years experience in a lab technician position
- Ability to read, understand and interpret electrical schematics
- Experience in using power meters, AC sources, DC loads, digital multimeters
- Excellent communication, analytical and problem solving skills
- Experienced in LabView, Python, Perl and Unix
- Familiarity with C/C++ and Excel macros
