Product Marketing Manager
HotLink, based in Sunnyvale, Ca is a well-funded, venture-backed enterprise software start-up currently seeking a Product Manager. This highly strategic role will be pivotal to our vision of transforming heterogeneous data centers spanning virtual, cloud & physical computing infrastructure. The Product Marketing Manager is a technical and hands on role, responsible for ensuring the creation and maintenance of a product roadmap leading to market leadership. He/she will thrive on building leading edge products and developing programs to guarantee success in the market. This position is a hands-on – it's not for a strategy-only person.
Knowledge of the enterprise data center software market is vital. The product marketing manager will be responsible for defining and prioritizing product features through working closely with engineering and sales to ensure that the products built are solutions enterprise data center customers want to buy. Additionally, he/she will be responsible for the go-to-market strategy and ensuring the sales team has all sales tools, collateral and training needed to achieve our aggressive sales plan.
Product Marketing Manager Individual should have solid experience in either virtualization technology or data center products
- Ability to put together a Go To Market plan
- Product pricing analysis
- Has written any white papers in the past
- Manage a product road-map (not only prepare tech spec documentation)
• Be the go-to product expert for HotLink technologies
• Capture & prioritize product requirements
• Develop MRDs and PRDs
• Create and maintain a detailed product roadmap
• Develop launch plans & facilitate cross-functional release teams Create robust & effective competitive analysis
• Deliver high-impact sales tools & training to support sales team
• Develop product collateral, presentations, whitepapers & website content
• Ensure pricing & packaging meets both financial & sales needs
• Evangelize technology and company to customers, media, analysts and partners
Requirements
• Strong knowledge of enterprise data center products. Particular advantage to knowledge of VMware, Citrix, Opsware/HP, Bladelogic/BMC, Tivoli/IBM or CA products.
• Prior experience with virtualization technologies like VMware, Citrix or other data center automation solutions
• At least 6 years of software product management experience
• Hands-on leader with a passion for emerging technology
• Demonstrated experience managing software products from concept to launch
• Clear, concise & effective written and presentation skills
• Ability to translate technology features into business benefits
• Experience at both large companies and start-ups
• Bachelor´s degree in technical discipline
