Sr. Security Architect (Industrial)
Professional Services – Security Consulting Practice
As a senior member of the Wind River Professional Services (PS) consulting staff you will support the pre-sales and delivery management of Embedded Security consulting engagements for the Industrial Industry. Travel 50% - 70%
Location: North America or EMEA
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide pre-sales support for PS Security related projects
- Promote PS Security offerings to WR sales teams and at key events
- Lead consulting teams and customers in engagements to deliver Wind River's Security Engineering Lifecycle offerings:
o Security System Model Analysis
o Security Objectives Engineering
o Security Threat Assessment, Risk Analysis, Risk Mitigation
o Security Requirements Engineering
o Security Code Analysis, SW Qualification and System Design
o Security Testing, Verification, Validation
o White-hat and Security Auditing Service
- Security Solutions pre-approval as a triage model with customer, cert body and WRSLead consulting teams and customers in customer engagements to deliver "Development Tool Assessment" offerings. Provide support to Development Methodology consulting practices.
- Provide oversight of critical software development tasks including concept, design, implementation, integration, test and release in co-ordination with project managers for Security related projects.
- Consult to clients on the proper selection of Wind River and partner solutions (secure runtime products, tools, and IP).
- Provide feedback to Wind River Product Development and PS management on needs for future products, services and partners that address the growing secure embedded device market.
- Support the identification and specification of new service offerings in the secure Industrial / Energy and Medical market.
- Responsible for the development of proof of concepts and project estimates in cooperation with the internal and external business partners. Effectively communicate project proposals to internal and customer teams.
- Execute and drive the development and refinement of Wind River processes and standards.
- Engage in Worldwide communication with other service, engineering and support teams within Wind River to share best practices.
- Identify Security market trends in Standards and Technologies
- Support team members regarding the design of secure software systems in compliance with security standards
o Provide input to emerging security standards through channels, partners, verticals, or direct contribution to cert bodies
- Support the Industrial Practice Leader to establish and maintain the interface to standardization bodies
o Lobbing and collaboration (in conjunction with the verticals) with cert bodies or agencies as NSA, BSI
Desired Skills and Experience
- Real-Time Operating Systems development and integration expertise on networked multi-processor or multi-core hardware architectures.
- Experience designing for Industrial Equipment, Medical Embedded Equipment, or Transportation Control Systems.
- Hands-on experience architecting and designing with embedded Linux, Android or VxWorks
- General networking protocol level knowledge of IPsec, ISAKMP, PKI, SSL, etc.
- Familiarity with one or more Security standards such as Common Criteria, IEC 61508, FIPS 140-2, FIPS 140-3, ARINC 653, etc.
- A strong foundation in computer and network and network stack security, authentication, security protocols and applied cryptography.
- Understanding of Threat Vector analysis
- Must have strong Software Engineering background
- MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience is required
- 15+ years experience in embedded systems design roles
- 5+ years experience in security solution design and security architecture
- 3+ years consulting experience
- 50% - 70% travel expected
