[KITlist-Tech] Benchmarking Analyst (San Francisco, CA)

Please direct your responses to: bkoupal@alexandergroup.com

Alexander Group (AGI) is a growing Sales Management Consulting firm with over 100 professionals in five offices nationwide. We work with Global 2000 clients to substantially improve their sales results through customer segmentation, channel selection, organization design and sales performance management.

Alexander Group distinguishes itself with both clients and potential employees in four primary ways—size, focus, culture and geographic spread. Our size and focus enable our Consultants to be significant contributors and subject-matter experts. The firm's culture built on team work and meritocracy empower our professionals to support each other in their career development. Our presence in major cities (Stamford, Atlanta, Chicago, Scottsdale and San Francisco) and emphasis on work-life-balance encourage an environment in which our Consultants typically travel less than their counterparts.

We currently have an opening for Business Analyst in our Sales Analytics and Benchmarking Practice. This position is based in our San Francisco office. This position reports to the Sales Analytics Practice Manager, conducting sales analytics work for consulting engagements and working on initiatives to continue the development and build out of the Sales Analytics Practice. This position interfaces internally with all levels of AGI personnel to deliver client reports and research results.

This position is perfect for a recent college graduate with a degree in a quantitative or information system-related discipline, with strong analytical and communication skills. The Business Analyst position career track includes promotion to Associate Consultant, typically in two years or less.

Responsibilities:

- Manage the AGI benchmark database in SQL, including uploading new data on a frequent basis
- Develop, run, and maintain ETL tools for data migration into the Db
- Develop, run, and maintain automation tools in VBA for generating reports in Excel and PowerPoint
- Participate in the design and maintenance of data collection tools including template forms and online surveys
- Conduct data analysis including basic statistical analysis
- Articulate project findings, conclusions and recommendations with your peers and clients
- Prepare initial drafts of high quality, error free report materials that require minimal revisions
- Occasionally participate in client meetings to present analytical approaches and interpret results

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in a technical or quantitative discipline (e.g. mathematics, statistics, economics, computer science, engineering)
- Advanced Excel skills
- In-depth knowledge of SQL and VBA languages
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong interpersonal and team working skills
- Ability to learn quickly and resourcefully
- High degree of motivation, flexibility and creativity
- Good understanding of client service orientation
- Ability to prioritize tasks dynamically, focusing on areas of critical concern
- Positive attitude and strong willingness to learn from mentors and peers
- Genuine desire to excel and progress rapidly in the consulting profession
- Coursework in computer programming and business administration a strong plus
- Experience with statistical software a strong plus

How AGI is different from other consulting firms:

- Work and obtain exposure to an exceptional blue chip client base
- Focus on revenue growth oriented work (rather than cost reduction)
- Develop expertise in a critical, underserved area: sales strategy and effectiveness
- Learn from a great team with sales and marketing (not just consulting) experience
- Gain more responsibility more quickly in a small team environment with hands on coaching and mentoring from seasoned consulting leaders

Competitive base salary with the ability to earn semi-annual bonuses. Comprehensive benefits package.

Local candidates will be given preference as there is no relocation allowance for this position. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States. EEO Employer. No phone calls please.
