If you enjoy working on highly scalable distributed systems and have an interest in architecture and learning new technologies, there is a really great opportunity at Amazon Web Services Digital Media Group located in Palo Alto, California.
We are looking for software engineering professionals to join in the design and delivery of a new AWS service in the high-growth, cloud-hosted digital media field.
These roles offer an opportunity to drive the design, creation and development of Amazon´s digital media product suite from the ground floor up. Candidates are therefore expected to demonstrate superior levels of expertise and proven experience of world-class digital media product development and will have led or significantly participated in the design of a major and demonstrably successful web based media product delivery.
As development jobs go, it doesn´t get much better than this. This is a newly formed team with ample opportunity to get involved in delivering rapid iterations of software features, design specifications, and defining engineering best practices and mentoring. The position is based in Palo Alto, California-an excellent place to work!
Required Skills:
• EE or CS (PhD with experience building practical solutions) MSCS and at least 2-4 years relevant work experience building online media services and fault tolerant distributed systems.
•Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Experience with cloud-based services, and developing/integrating innovative technologies.
• Computer Science fundamentals in algorithm design, data structures and problem solving.
• Knowledge of emerging technologies, Java, J2EE, C/C++, Video and Audio codecs, NoSQL, Linux, building distributed systems, and programming best practices.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Practical knowledge of digital media technologies.
