BrightPattern is seeking an experienced Technical Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, composing technical information into clear, concise, print/PDF or web-based documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences. The candidate will have experience creating a broad range of technical publications for new product releases supporting both internal and external customer documents, including software system documentation, user and administration guides, API documentation, online help systems, knowledge base articles, training manuals and other related documentation (including downloadable formats).
Position: Part time to Full time
Requirements
Desired Skills/Qualifications:
• 5+ years' of experience in a technology related field
• Bachelor's degree in technical writing or related field is a plus
• Excellent interpersonal and general business communication skills
• Excellent organizational and communications skills - Excellent command of the English Language, both written and verbal
• Detail oriented with an eye for formatting, presentation and appearance of written material
• Able to work equally efficient independently or as part of a team
• Able to manage and prioritize tasks in a deadline driven environment
• Demonstrated success working in an environment driven by projects, budget, scope and deadlines across multiple projects while maintaining high levels of quality
• Demonstrated success working with multiple subject matter experts
• Ability to solicit and incorporate feedback to improve quality and effectiveness
• Experience with researching and gathering relevant technical data from subject matter experts such as engineers, developers and product managers as well as from internal material and systems. (ESL Russian)
• Ability to present complex systems in a straightforward, well organized and easy to understand manner
• Experience with the following technologies: Voice over IP, Telecommunications, Contact Centers, Customer Service Systems, Customer Relationship Management
• Basic knowledge of programming, exposure to HTML and CSS
• Expertise using MS Word is required, experience with the following types of applications is a plus; Adobe Acrobat Professional, and Mediawiki
• Previous experience in course development and/or e-Learning
• Working knowledge of Adobe Captivate or other e-learning authoring tools would be beneficial
