Wind River is looking for a Senior Member of Technical Staff to be part of the engineering team of ONS (Open Network Software), an innovative approach to Network Switching development platform. This position is a senior developer position reporting to the Director of Software, ONS at Wind River.
As a Wind River Systems Software Developer, you´ll use the latest tools and technologies available to deliver state-of-the-art software. You´ll be responsible for ensuring that company software components are expertly designed, tested, debugged, verified, and ready for integration into Wind River's best-of-breed solutions that help organizations improve their business outcomes in the global marketplace. Wind River Systems, Open Network Software Group currently has an opening for a Senior Staff Software Developer.
The ideal candidate should have 10+ years of software development experience in the following areas:
• Strong understanding of networking concepts (solid IP protocol)
• Routing (OSPFv2/v3, BGP, ISIS, RIP)
• Multicast routing (PIM/IGMP)
• IPv6
• Layer 2 protocols (VLAN, 802.1-related protocols such as STP/LACP, TRILL)
• Strong C++/C programming
• Good development experience in Linux environments
• Strong background in embedded systems programming & embedded hardware architecture
• Experience in developing drivers for network processors/switching ASICs
• Strong development experience in high performance centralized and distributed packet switching systems
Required
• Bachelor´s Degree
• At least 2 years of experience in L3 routing protocols (OSPFv2/v3, BGP, ISIS, RIP)
• At least 3 years of experience in in Layer 2 protocols (VLAN, Spanning Tree Protocol/LACP/TRILL) development
• At least 3 years of experience in Linux environments
• At least 3 years' experience in in high performance switching systems, including the development and troubleshooting in the control plane and data paths areas
Preferred
• Master´s Degree in Engineering
• At least 5 years' experience in L3 routing protocols (OSPFv2/v3, BGP, ISIS, RIP)
• At least 5 years' experience in in Layer 2 protocols (VLAN, Spanning Tree Protocol/LACP/TRILL) development
• At least 5 years' experience in Linux environments
• At least 5 years' experience in in high performance switching systems, including the development and troubleshooting in the control plane and data paths areas
• English : Intermediate
The following are desirable:
• Knowledgeable in high availability implementations
• Familiarity with TCP/IP stack
• Computer architecture
