 LIMS/Database Software Developer

The LIMS Software Engineer performs all aspects of LIMS-related software development, such as user requirement gathering, system design, implementation, testing, and production software release.

The nature of the work requires excellent attention to detail, effective written and verbal communication skills, the ability to multi-task and be flexible with tasks and schedules, and the ability to work independently and in a team environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 
- Participate as a team member on projects to develop life-science informatics system

  
-  Develop workflows and plugins for laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and integrate LIMS with other applications

  
- Develop Web portal applications

  
- Work with members of the bioinformatics and other groups including bioinformaticians, scientists, and lab technicians to build new and extend existing production systems, and provide technical support

  
- Participate in testing and releasing production software and validating database integrity.

  
-  Assist the Client Service Team to address customer issues as needed.

  
-  Perform other related duties as assigned and based on Company needs.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

��� B.S. or higher degree in computer science, engineering, or related area.

  
-  4+ years of experience in software engineering, database management, GUI, and Web development.

  
-  1+ year of experience in commercial software industry.

  
-  Experience in developing software systems using C/C++, Java, C#, Perl, Python, Ruby, and SQL.

  
-  Experience in developing UI using modern visualization and data handling frameworks such as GWT/JSF for Java, Bootstrap, CSS, HTML, and JavaScript.

  
-  Experience in developing software on Linux/Unix, OS X, and Windows.

  
-  Experience in LIMS and/or ELN development.

  
-  Knowledge in Object-Oriented programming.

  
-  Excellent communication skills required.
