Sr. Systems Administrator – Strong in Linux, networking, and storage is critical for this role

+ Expert with Linux systems, particularly RedHat 5 and 6. Extensive knowledge of system behavior, performance tuning, driver and system troubleshooting, kickstart automated installation, storage networking and multipathing, volume manager, filesystems, security esp SSH and certificates), GFS, clustering.

+ Expert with Cisco networking, switching and routing, vpn, firewall (pix and IOS), LAN/WAN, QoS, active routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), HSRP, IOS-based NAT/SNAT, etc. Don´t care if they have a CCIE but should feel comfortable that they could teach the CCIE classes.

+ Expert with common network services and protocols: DNS/Bind, DHCP, Apache, FTP, NFS, NIS, etc.

+ Experience with Sun Solaris on Sparc and Intel architectures, jumpstart, filesystems, volumes, etc.

+ Experience with storage networking, SAN (particularly EMC and HP), fiberchannel.

+ Should have some programming/scripting ability - bash/csh/perl etc. No hard-core programming necessary but enough to automate system tasks.

+ Should know some windows server admin but need not be expert.

+ Must be hands-on, will do a lot of physical rack-and-stack work, pull thousands of cables, lift 100+ pounds unassisted.

+ Will be on-call 24/7/365, must be 200% reliable and be able to work with a 2-hour response to San Jose datacenter and San Carlos office.
