The Business Systems Analyst will perform the central role during the analysis phase of the software development life cycle. In this role, the business systems analyst will gather and document business requirements, produce relevant diagrams such as UML, and guide the project through the phase by using a hands-on approach with extensive communication. The analyst will also perform testing and configuration as needed in support of development projects. This position reports to the IT Manager.
Position Description
Plans, conducts, and directs the analysis of business problems to be solved with automated systems. Partners with users to identify, evaluate, and develop systems and procedures which are cost effective and meet user requirements. May plan and execute unit, integration, and acceptance testing; and creates specifications for systems to meet business requirements. Designs details of automated systems. May lead cross-functional linked teams to address business or systems issues.
Minimum Requirements
2+ years experience in business analysis, requirements definition and deployment of business requirements to information systems.
Additional Knowledge & Skills
Working knowledge of designing and building system solutions and business applications. Working knowledge of capturing business requirements and transcribing requirements into system specifications. Analytical/problem solving experience to deal with complex business problems. Knowledge of Unified Modeling Language (UML), multi-tier architecture, Object Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD) and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). Experience in tool/system configuration desired.
Education
4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience
