The Services Routing Technology Group (SRTG) delivers customer-relevant IT infrastructure and application products for remote office deployments (bank branches, retail stores, Managed Service Providers, etc) by integrating Cisco technologies into a cohesive solution. The flagship product line of this group is the Integrated Services Router (ISR), which is the market leader in this category. About this Job
SRTG´s Management & Manageability team is looking for an individual with a comprehensive understanding of customers´ operational practices who is capable of excelling at product management on a system level. This individual will product manage the ISR´s next-generation Enterprise Management product.
Along with traditional product mgmt responsibilities, SRTG's Management & Manageability (M&M) team is responsible for ensuring the customer experience is fully represented in all of SRTG´s development projects. Through a broad understanding of our customer's operational practices, this team helps institutionalize their operational requirements into SRTG´s development processes resulting in lower deployment and on-going OPEX expenses and greater ease of use.
Position Responsibilities
Partly a traditional product management role, this position also has aspects of business development, evangelism and next-generation visionary. As a member of this team you will:
- manage SRTG's ecosystem of management applications including Cisco and 3rd-party vendors
- lead our customers operational intimacy program to continually improve our understanding of how customers use and manage our products while defining and evangelizing the system-level vision and resulting reqts across SRTG
- participate in the definition of next-generation manageability for IOS and ISR applications
- contribute to Cisco's next generation management applications that span the multi-functional features of the ISRs including routing, wired, wireless, voice, etc
- interact daily across SRTG and other TGs product mgmt and engineering teams
In addition to the above responsibilities, the successful candidate will be responsible for defining and product managing the ISR´s next-generation Enterprise Management product.
- Engage with Cisco's largest customers, VARs and SI's to understand market trends and customers needs
- Translate customer needs into clearly defined requirements via PRDs
- Manage the full life cycle of the product including sales, forecasting, development, go-to-market, training, marketing and pricing
- Work closely with development and test engineering, mfg, PDT, etc to scope, plan and deliver new releases
- Be a resource to sales, support and other customer facing teams.
- Manage and lead cross-functional and cross-TG teams
- Work with relevant business unit leaders to ensure product requirements are in line with company vision.
- Work with outbound marketing to promote the product and with the international team to address the needs of each local market
You will have end to end responsibility throughout the execution cycle, including: gathering product requirements, defining product vision, creating preliminary design concepts, and working with cross functional teams to rollout products to market.
Qualifications
- Capable of thriving in an unstructured environment
- Able to develop a vision and indirectly manage a team for results through influence
- Five to ten years of prior experience in product management or technical marketing, specializing in network management.
- Resolve intra/inter team/BU conflicts effectively.
- Outstanding ability to work cross-functionally (Team/BU) and with customers.
- Exert important influence across the organization; quickly recognized as an authority on this topic
- Technical background including broad understanding of networking and Cisco products and services. Cisco IOS experience required, CCIE desirable
- In depth knowledge of security technology a real plus
- In-depth understanding of network management applications and customers´ operational systems
- Have a BSEE/CS or equivalent. A Masters degree and/or MBA are highly valued..
- History of accomplishments and initiative
- Strategic thinker with excellent analytical, and problem-solving capabilities
- Demonstrated ability to meet or beat assigned targets and deadlines consistentl
