Information Technology Project Manager needed to manage Applications Track of Overall Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Disaster Recovery (DR) Program Project.

This is a 6+ month project at a very good, stable, public company. Must Have All Required Skills / Experience needed.

Role Description

IT has launched a Business Continuity Planning/Disaster Recovery (BCP/DR) program to build out its BCP/DR capabilities. This is a cross-functional program requiring participation from the IT Operatons, IT Applications, Technical Operations, and the various Lines of Business (LOB). The role of the IT Applications BCP Project manager is to manage the plan and deliverables associated with the IT Applications track of the BCP/DR program. It is expected that this role will engage with the various LOBs and work with them on documenting their BCP processes as well as work with the broader BCP program team to ensure alignment of plans/milestones. Additionally, this role will also be responsible for working with the service delivery teams within the IT Applications organization (Dev, QA, DSS) to secure resources/commitments necessary to support the deployment and testing of and DR capability or DR rehearsal exercises.


Major Responsibilities

1. Project Management
* Supports all phases of projects from inception through completion.
* Acts as primary contact for Application track-related project activities, leading project review sessions with customer to discuss deliverables, cost, and schedule.
* Liaises with business functions to understand ongoing needs. Works with various business functions to understand their BCP needs, and assists them in defining deliverables to ensure comprehensive BCP plans are in place.
* Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, SDLC procedures, identifies project problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing specifications.

2. Communication.
* Provide weekly project status reporting to BCP Program Manager
* Assist BCP Program Manager with outbound communication to business partners.
* Partner closely with IT Operations BCP Project Manager to ensure ongoing alignment of plan, resources etc. to meet project deliverables.

Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor´s degree
* Strong Project Management Skills: Ability to build and maintain plans, manage deliverables, communicate status upward and out, identify and manage risks.
* Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with customers and is dedicated to meeting customer expectations and requirements.
* Ability to marshal resources (people, funding, material, support) to get things done, to use resources effectively and efficiently, and to orchestrate multiple activities at once to accomplish a goal.

Desired Qualifications
* Previous experience working on BCP/DR programs
* Previous BA and or PM experience supporting Order Management, Customer Support
* PMP Certification
