Our Fortune 50 client, located in Cupertino needs the following contractor:
Media Systems Quality Engineer
System level testing focused on importing a variety of file formats and understanding compliance restrictions and the ability to export or transcode media to a host of file formats and the correlating audio/video codecs. Testing will focus on QuickTime´s import and export technologies and an understanding of media handlers is a plus. Understanding how QuickTime technologies are properly playing back media with alternative language tracks, subtitles, closed captions, text tracks and validate DRM is behaving properly will be involved.
Skill set should include:
* Effective Communicator both written and oral
* Experienced at writing defect reports
* Any type of system level test experience is a plus
* At least 3 years experience as a QA engineer
* Has been responsible for the validation of a feature or technology as a QA tester
* 1yr Experience working with and validating multimedia - preferably video
* Experienced on both Windows Os and Os X
* Experience with scripting Bash, Perl or Python
Media IO Quality Engineer
Quality engineer familiar with the media ingest process. Capable of working in environments that focus on simple video capture, such as iChat, to complex Pro Media ingest and editing as seen in Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere. This tester must understand the technologies used during ingest and how to validate them. Focus could include color tagging, frame drops during capture and triaging errors found in the DAL (device abstraction layer) when connecting your computer to video devices.
Skill set should include:
* Effective Communicator both written and oral
* Experienced at writing defect reports
* Any type of system level test experience is a plus
* At least 3 years experience as a QA engineer
* Has been responsible for the validation of a feature or technology as a QA tester
* 1yr Experience working with and/or validating multimedia application such as iMovie, Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere
* Experienced with Os X and familiar with UNIX command line tools
* Exposure to scripting such as Bash, Perl or Python is a plus
