Hello Everyone,
Mike Cassidy, who writes an insightful column for the San Jose Mercury
News has written a piece about our KIT List community.
The article is slated to run in this Sunday's (8/22) edition in the
Business section. I'll share the link once it's up.
Mike's commentary on the people and stories behind the business,
technology and trends puts the human aspect first -- plus he adds his
own wit and humor to make his columns an intersting read (check out
his article on the fast exit of the fed-up Jet Blue flight attendant!).
Though most if you know that the KIT List was my "Keep in Touch" email
list of my friends at Silicon Graphics, Mike was interested in how
this grew from friends helping each other find great jobs to the
68,000 friends we have now. After all, you're here because a friend
cared enough to help you -- and the list as grown simply by friends
referring friends.
I'm grateful to my dear friend, Pam Crowley, who has her own PR
practice, who was kind enough to tell Mike about the KIT List all on
her own. It's that generosity of spirit that lead to this article,
and reflects the spirit of the people in our community.
The CBS 5 piece a few weeks ago was due to the selfless efforts of
another friend, Tresa Eyres, who nominated th KIT List for the
Jefferson Award for community service.
Thank you all for your support! The personal stories we hear from you
mean so much to us, and they give us the encouragement and reason to
keep this great community going.
Thanks, everyone, and together we can help our friends and turn this
stinkin' economy!
