[KITlist-Tech] From Sue: Article in today's SJ Mercury on KIT List community

Hello Everyone,

For those of you who get the San Jose Mercury, the KIT List article came out today on the front page of the Business section!

Here's the link:

Mike Cassidy, who is their business columnist, really captured the essence of what our "Keep In Touch" community is all about -- friends helping friends find jobs.

Though our mission is "Helping Great People Find Great Jobs," the strength of our community is that high-quality people refer their other high-quality friends and colleagues.

Though we're smaller than the huge boards, I hear regularly from employers and recruiters that they value our list because of the quality instead of the quantity of responses. They appreciate that the responses they get are from such qualified people, and they are not flooded by people who don't fit the job requirements.

So, it's worth it for you to respond to job postings! Your emails are not going into the proverbial black hole. Also, don't be dismayed if you don't hear back, since many don't use auto-responses. People DO get jobs (I've heard back from some who've gotten more than one job through the KIT List), so hang in there and keep trying!

I'm deeply grateful to my dear friend, Pam Crowley. Although she has her own PR practice, she took her personal time to tell Mike about the KIT List and that we are trying to get more people not only back to work, but with the hope of getting jobs that they'll really love. Hey, if we all have to work so hard, it should be with people we enjoy and with products or services that we can feel impassioned about. That's when the work doesn't feel so difficult and the "magic" kicks in!

Enjoy your Sunday, everyone, and we hope this starts a great week for you,

Sue
