Job Title: Senior Software Engineer/Linux drivers/embedded wireless

Job Description:
Our client is a fab-less semiconductor startup located in Fremont. The are developing wireless chipsets to speed up delivery of HDTV and other multimedia services over standard WiFi Networks. They are seeking a Senior Embedded SW Engineer, strong in Linux Driver development, to add to their team. This represents an exciting hands-on project for experienced and distinguished Engineers.
Specific Duties include:
Responsible for Linux environment development for embedded wireless platforms.
Optimization of Linux environment for memory size and performance.
In house expert for Linux integration of L2/L3 networking functions on platform.
Architecture, development and integration of Linux interfaces to networking and control applications as well as driver path.
***Candidates from the following communication chip companies would be most interesting to this client: Atheros, Broadcom, Marvell, Qualcomm or smaller ones. Other company possibilities are system companies such as Aruba and Cisco.
Required Skills:
MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer engineering or equivalent.
Minimum of 5-8 years of directly related experience.
Fluent in C / C++ languages in embedded and Linux environments.
Expertise in Linux kernel and driver development including BSP packaging.
Demonstratable experience with Linux driver development for Wi-Fi, Ethernet and/or USB interfaces.
Experience with hardware design and system level implementations in a startup environment is a plus.
