Scope of Position
Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Marketing Webmaster in cooperation with the other members of the marketing team is responsible for the development and implementation of the company's internet strategy to develop our online community. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the ongoing maintenance, and technical administration, of the company's web and integrated online presence including micro sites, mirror sites, portals, eNewsletters, social media, and email marketing campaigns.
This is a hybrid position requiring the talent to define and manage online marketing programs as well as the technical ability to build and maintain web and online based presence.
This person must have the technical expertise to clearly articulate the company's technical web and other online requirements and to seamlessly interface with the Vocera IT team.
Responsibilities
-Fully direct, manage, and implement industry standard, best of breed, web design for Vocera.com.
-Develop systems, processes, and policies for content management.
-Identify tactical issues and emerging areas of concern. Provide day to day support to key areas of the internal and external web environments.
-Research and review emerging technologies, services, and products to enhance the web experience, and make recommendations as to their applicability to specific project requirements.
-Develop web page infrastructure and application related to pages with more advanced graphics and features.
-Ability to monitor web server and site technical performance.
-Implement search engine optimization strategies.
-Define, develop, and establish Microsites to meet specific market, product, or company needs
-Develop vertically focused Mirror Sites of www.vocera.com to meet the distinct solutions needs of target audiences.
-Support email marketing campaigns with customized HTML emails
-Create templates for, and distribute, enewsletters for use with external mail lists and customized versions for use by the sales organization
-Develop and implement Vocera's online brand strategy including Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.
-Manage day to day activity.
-Develop strategy to create new content.
-Create internal team to contribute new content.
-Track and elevate Vocera's online brand presence
-Outline and develop online networking opportunities such as regional or vertically focused user communities, chat groups, and blogs
-Interact with Vocera's IT team to build and maintain a stable web experience.
-Must be proficient in HTML, CSS and XML with knowledge of the open-source Unix operating system or it's variants. Helpful to have knowledge of C++ or Java.
-Thorough knowledge of browser compatibility issues for all platforms/major browsers is necessary.
-Must have Photoshop and Flash expertise to create animation and graphics appropriate for the web.
Education, Skills & Experience
-BA or BS, in computer sciences or web design or other related field.
-Five or more years experience developing and managing corporate online presence, social networking and web sites
-Preferred experience with some of the following:
-Web development tools: HTML, XHTML, CSS, Flash ActionScript, JavaScript, MySQL, Cold Fusion, XML Joomla, Drupal, Ajax and J2EE
-Image and editing tools: Flash, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
