We are looking for a strong leader who can come in and manage this project.
The CONA Program Manager must have a minimum of ten (10) years previous experience as a senior research or engineering manager, directly responsible for the development of networking software protocol technology. Experience must include a minimum of two years in the development of commercial products that were delivered to customers.
Must have demonstrated technical strength in each of the following areas:
•In-depth technical understanding and direct experience working with high-speed IP routing protocols
•Must have solid knowledge of IP networking equipment, and carrier core network topologies and core IP network performance issues
•Strong knowledge of content distribution networks, issues, and considerations
•Understanding of both voice and video streaming protocols
•Experienced managing software architects, programmers, project plans, and project scheduling
•Solid technical familiarity with software unit testing, integration testing, and system-level performance testing
Candidates must have demonstrated personal strength in each of the following:
•Development strategy, project planning and scheduling, resource allocation
•Writing comprehensive project presentations, specifications, and test plans
•Success in managing the development of networking-related software
•Excellent personnel management skills, motivating and winning respect of direct reports; strong skills in running technical meetings, verified by references
•Aggressive determination, good problem solver, with maturity and wisdom necessary to navigate risks and unknowns with calmness and focus
•Experience with budgeting and cultivating teamwork
•Must have excellent written and spoken English language communications skills
Education:
Ph.D. or MS in electrical engineering or computer science, or directly equivalent technical degree, with emphasis on networking-related topics.
Responsibilities/Descriptions
1. Responsible for program coordination with internal BU and external customer, standard organization (SDO) and industry forum, charter definition (technology/standard development, technology transition plan), to bring forward company's progress of this area: new generation content-oriented service architecture and related standard activities.
2. Responsible for technology transition and business justification, including collaboration with Tier-1 SPPartner and research institutes/universities, specification of prototype definition, proof of concept.
3. Participate SDO and industry forum to organize technology initiatives, program development, and drafting of open standard protocols and interfaces.
Qualifications/Requirements:
1. Extensive knowledge and 10 or more years experience in one of the following fields: Web technologies (web service / social network / content aggregation etc), Content networking and CDN, TCP/IP routing protocols from IETF, Telecom communication network and enabled service, Internet service operation and management (business model etc), Mobile value-added service (Transcoding / client runtime /personalized advertisement)
2. Leadership to coordinate and strong management experience in research oriented Team.
3. A good understanding of technology trends of this area.
4. Excellent interpersonal skills, good team spirit, and adaptability
5. Be familiar with the related industrial ecosystem, professional experience in standard group and industry forum such as ITU, IETF, IEEE and technology-specific forum is preferred.
