We are building next generation suite of portfolio management system. The system will provide actionable business intelligence to help analysts and managers understand risk and valuation, facilitated by best-in-class visualization, analytics, and advanced decision support that will dramatically leapfrog competitive solutions. This system will be an enterprise class, high performance, highly scalable, and distributed, making use of best-of-breed, industry-leading technology as well as our proprietary, industry-leading analytics.
The Senior Project Management team exhibits high energy, good technical skills and a drive to get things done. Our project managers need to be motivators and problem solvers who are comfortable leading the teams in a high pressure agile environment. The project management team is responsible for the planning, budgeting, execution and success of our core flagship software products and our next Generation product. The ideal candidate is a dynamic, results-oriented, detail-driven project manager with 10+ years of software project management experience.
Responsibilities:
•Own and drive timelines - either product releases and/or other key initiatives - by creating and maintaining schedules (including key deliverables, milestones, and dependencies), understanding the deliverables and the progress toward each milestone, and identifying and driving resolution of all project issues.
•Effectively manage change and risk, partnering with the team to ensure the right decisions are made at the right time, appropriate communication occurs, and plans are intelligently adjusted to reflect necessary fluctuations in goals and requirements as business needs change.
•Collaborate with other product teams and external groups ( Pre-Release, Documentation, Legal, Marketing, Operations, Support, etc.) to coordinate release processes, facilitate deliverable hand-offs, and ensure timely delivery of fully-qualified whole products to our customers.
•Coordinate and communicate with internal customers and external customers and third-party partners as needed to set and manage expectations, highlight and resolve issues, and ensure an overall excellent experience working with the team.
•Facilitate Product/Business Team and related meetings; report on program management issues, especially those that need visibility, escalating business issues as necessary; take meeting notes; assign action items and drive to closure; review status on a weekly basis to track progress.
•Manage team communication across multiple geographical locations.
•Identify the need for, design, and proactively drive ongoing process improvements within the organization.
•Write weekly status reports to communicate progress to the entire team and the rest of the organization. Serve as a single point of contact for all project status items.
Requirements:
•Willing to travel 25% to key client sites located in the US and international
•Desire to be on a highly productive, fast-paced team
•10+ years of software project management experience, including at least three complete enterprise product release cycles
•Experience managing development partnerships and ability to travel to partner sites a must
•Familiarity with standard project management practices and procedures
•Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail, strong follow-through, and ability to use analysis to drive decisions
•Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and ability to build relationships and collaborate with variety of personalities and styles
•Proven track record of managing component projects within a larger program or integrated product suite, with complex upstream and downstream dependencies
•Proven experience managing complex projects to successful completion including the ability to navigate complex environments and work with interdisciplinary teams and effectively communicate priorities, delivery expectations, risks and concerns to senior management
•Proven track record of handling multiple projects simultaneously
•Flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines imposed by rapid business growth, including the ability to multi-task and juggle many competing priorities and deadlines
•Experience designing and implementing new processes, as well as improving existing ones
•Proactive, collaborative work style and can-do attitude
•BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering or Math, or a related field degree required.
•Experience leading teams on platform products, suites, and/or solutions - programs comprised of multiple products/components
•Experience managing 1.0 product development projects
•Plan, budget, and execute towards the success of our core flagship products and/or, the next generation product development.
•Work with the software development team, product management team and the QA team to create the overall plan for the product release
•Manage risks and come up with action plans to mitigate them on a day to day basis.
•Lead the daily team meetings and manage action items based on decisions made in the daily meetings
•Capable of leading due diligence process researching, and possible implementation of, new platform technologies.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
• PMP Certification.
• Formal project management training (certifications, courses etc) is a plus.
• Rally Agile tool experience a plus.
