Position Title: Research Associate Intermediate
Duration: 10 - 12 Months
Location: Santa Clara, CA
Interview: Phone to Onsite
Max Pay Rate: DOE

Key responsibilities will include characterization of synthesized DNA oligonucleotides, investigation of gene assembly techniques and analysis of experimental results. The individual will be performing wet-lab work as needed by the project team and communicating results to team members orally and in writing.

Job Qualifications:

Musts:
B.S./B.A. in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology or equivalent with strong background in molecular biology.
Proficiency in specific molecular biology techniques including: gel electrophoresis (agarose & acrylamide gels), PCR, cloning, enzymatic manipulation of nucleic acids, nucleic acid extraction, clean up and quantification.
Excellent time management, teamwork and communication skills.
Excel at detail-orientated laboratory work and record keeping.
Ability to work independently and comfortable with the design and troubleshooting of experiments.
2+ years of wet-lab experience on research projects involving molecular biology techniques.
Computer literacy including experience with Word and Excel.

Desired:
Experience with DNA manipulation and alignment software.
Experience with Agilent*s Bioanalyzer
Experience analyzing DNA sequencing output.
Recombinant DNA experience with E. coli and/or yeast.
