We are seeking a Web Operations Systems Administrator, who will be based in Raleigh to work closely with Product Development Groups and Client Services to help improve services and preparedness for new and on-target deployments. The Web Ops Sys Admin will collaborate during the project life cycle to recommend operational efficiencies, especially towards scalability, redundant and high availability solutions. This person will also be a member of multiple Web Services teams and will be responsible to deploy and maintain our growing web application infrastructure/environment(s), provide technical services to internal and external users, resolving outages as required, troubleshoot complex solutions/environments, pursue root cause analysis, and regular ensure that all stakeholders receive timely and accurate communication about issues and status.
The Web Operations Systems Administrator will be responsible to:
* Architect, expand, improve, maintain and monitor the current and future web production environment as well as development and virtual environments
* Build and maintain servers, patch levels, and management software throughout the infrastructure
* Provide general support for all technologies
* Develop and document processes and procedures
Qualifications Requirements
* Extensive experience with VMware technology is required including ESX, vSphere
* Advanced scripting and automation technologies such as Puppet, Chef, Opsware
* Experience with capacity planning, cloud technologies (Azure, Amazon)
* Proficiency with storage technologies (SAN and iSCSI /FC) required
* 5+ years of experience as a systems administrator in a Microsoft Web environment is required. (IIS6, IIS7, Win2k3, Win2008)
* Experience with MSSQL 2005, 2008 and replication. (Sybase experience a plus)
* Experience with Linux in a Web hosting environment (LAMP) is also desired
* Advanced Networking experience - Load Balancing, Firewalls, Routers and Switches
* Managing, deploying and maintaining multiple test environments for Dev and QA
* Writing documentation, presentations, and training to share knowledge with new team members across teams
* Required individual characteristics include:

* College degree or equivalent working experience is required
We require experience with Windows Server running ASP.Net web applications including IIS performance analysis, capacity planning, load balancing, and stress testing, proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server including database queries, HA, back-end testing, monitoring, automation, performance testing and troubleshooting. We also require advanced networking and troubleshooting.
The selected candidate will also be very knowledgeable in Web-based application design, including database access, security, client-side presentation and scripting (HTML, DHTML, CSS, JavaScript, Shell). Will demonstrate deep knowledge of, server virtualization technologies (e.g., VMWare, vSphere), working knowledge of software engineering and quality assurance processes and understanding of Cloud Computing (e.g., AWS, Windows Azure), demonstrate an understanding and experience with Agile software development methodologies and have strong knowledge with Co-location environments.
Our Web Operations System Administrator will have excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, a passion for learning new technologies and web operations initiatives, good written and verbal communication skills and be proficient in providing accurate work efforts estimates and managing effective meetings. This position requires limited travel to our co-lo site and the ability to lift and move equipment, including servers.
This position also requires: a Bachelors in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience plus 8-10 years of related experience, including 3+ years working in a Web operations function.
