Scope of Position
Vocera is looking for a Senior Program Manager with a dedication to delivering high quality products for a passionate and growing customer base in the healthcare market. The Vocera product is a wireless VoIP communication system driven by a Windows based Java server. The candidate will be responsible for coordinating Engineering activities for Beta field trials, product releases and high priority customer escalation activities. We are looking for someone with a strong technical background in server high availability, VoIP and complex Enterprise systems. This position is within the Engineering organization and has a heavy emphasis on technical planning and troubleshooting. The candidate should be well organized, data driven and possess the ability to be hands on when needed. A background in test engineering or IT, or previous experience with Vocera is a plus. The candidate should enjoy dynamic projects and have the ability to lead several projects at one time. This position requires a self-starter who enjoys a challenge and is comfortable coordinating a variety of programs ranging from field trials, product releases and customer escalations.
Responsibilities
· Is responsible for the planning, scheduling, and issue tracking and status of a variety of Engineering projects primarily focused on Beta testing at customer sites
· Coordinates and develops test plans, strategies, and schedules for Engineering projects
· Interacts closely with the development team to articulate problems found and to influence the design and functionality of our products
· Designs and maintains an Integration Lab used to simulate customer environments
· Provides guidance and best practices for Program Management and is the advocate for a structured and thorough planning process
Education, Skills & Experience
BS, MS in Computer Science or related field
Ten plus years experience managing the testing or development of complex enterprise applications
Solid track record of managing projects to schedule with successful outcomes
Previous experience in IT, Customer Support or QA, a plus
Previous experience administrating a Vocera system, a plus
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving skills
Proficient in MS Project
Previous experience with mission critical applications
Experience with enterprise-class Windows server and Java based applications
