Position Overview:
TRUSTe is seeking a talented, experienced Web Application Developer (Frontend Engineer) to join our engineering team. The Web Developer will own the User Interface of major website projects from inception to development and delivery, working closely with an agile team including the Visual Designer, Product Owners and Development team.
Responsibilities:
•Design and develop Web based applications for internal and customer use
•Own front-end layout and visual execution for TRUSTe
•Act as the technical expert for presentation technologies on the engineering team
•Contributing to presentation layer standards and practices as a part of the engineering team
•Contributing to testing and implementation approach for presentation layer
•Build reporting dashboards for internal and external use
•Act as subject matter expert on Web UI design and implementation
Personal Attributes:
•Self starter able to proactively solve problems and work as the sole developer on a major feature area
•Ability to design, develop, iterate on a rapid basis
•Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
•Understanding of latest innovations, trends and emerging technologies in web user interface development
Required Skills:
•5 years minimum experience with Java, Javascript, JSON, DOM, HTML/XHTML and CSS. HTML5 is desired, but not required
•3 years minimum experience with Java based web applications, Hibernate and Spring MVC, experience with GWT is a plus
•Client side development on at least one successfully deployed high volume website
•Proficiency with basic algorithms, data structures and relevant time/storage tradeoffs
• Experience solving cross browser compatibility, optimization, and layout issues
• Experience with web page performance tools
• Working with the engineering team to create modular templates for better site manageability
•Design, develop, iterate on a rapid basis while organizing and managing multiple priorities
•Experience prototyping visually attractive and highly usable web interfaces
•Working closely with product team, other engineers, and designers
•Development experience using extensible web authoring tools
•Experience developing and implementing open source software projects
•BS in computer science or a related field, or significant equivalent experience
Desired Skills:
•Experience of working in a start-up environment
•Experience of Agile development methodologies
•Understanding and enthusiasm for the latest innovations, trends and emerging technologies in web user interface development
•Good working knowledge of SQL
•Experience with JQuery and/or several Javascript libraries and frameworks
•Mobile development experience a plus
