Software QA Engineer
Location: San Jose, CA

This is an excellent opportunity to join SAVBU - Cisco's latest acquisition in the Data Center space. The job involves working on a cutting edge server access switch. We are looking for candidates who strive in a fast paced start like environment.

You will be part of a fast paced team, open communications, empowerment, innovation, teamwork and customer success are the foundations of the team with "pay for performance" culture. Thus, you set your own limits for learning, achievements and rewards.

You will be part of an experienced team working on a next generation data center products. Work involves providing constant feedback to hardware and software teams for improvements.

Required Skills/Experience:
• Software/Software QA Engineer III will be responsible for applying testing methodologies, create, execute & automate test cases; perform integration & system testing; bug tracking and report generation for software features & enhancements including VLAN/Spanning tree protocol/Link Aggregation Control Protocol; participate in design discussions; project manage & collaboratively work with the team to recreate, verify and fix bugs.
• 3-7 years of strong hands-on testing experience with L2 switches.
• strong hands-on testing experience with L2/L3 switches/routers.
• Hands-on testing experience with L3 Switching protocols (IPv4, IPv6) like OSPF, BGP, PIM, MLD, IGMP
• In-depth knowledge of internals of L2 Switching equipments.
• Hands-on experience with L2 Switching protocols like VLAN/STP/MSTP/RSTP/LACP
• Must also have experience in testing ACLs, QoS, high availability components.
• Strong background and experience in software testing methodology, test development and test execution and report generation is preferred.
• Must have experience with performance testing tools like Ixia ,Agilent..
• Proficient programming in at least one scripting language (TCL, Perl, Python, etc.).
• Good understanding of end to end network architectures..
• Personal Characteristics:
• Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to manage competing high priority tasks.
• Strong team player with the ability to work collaboratively with others, and have fun!
• Independent, Accountable, Strong sense of ownership, Assertive, Communicative, Accountable, Sense of urgency, and Flexible and adaptable.
• BSCS/BSCE degree is required; MS CS/CE is preferred.
