Software Engineer - Routing Protocol / Infrastructure
Location: San Jose, CA

Organization:
Network Operating System Technology Group (NOSTG) seeks an experienced Technical Leader to define, design and build a flexible, scalable framework for your new data center network product with NX-OS.

Opportunity Snapshot:
We are looking to hire bright software engineers. This is an excellent opportunity to participate in development of software in Network Operating System Technology Group (NOSTG) for the next generation networking switches in the Nexus product family. The work involves design and development in customized networking environment for some key system software.

You will be part of a fast paced team responsible for delivering quality code for large complex systems requirements. Open communications, empowerment, innovation, teamwork and customer success are the foundations of the team with "pay for performance" culture. Thus, you set your own limits for learning, achievements and rewards.

Responsibilities:
Participate on a project team of engineers involved in the development of software for our next generation data center switch product family, with emphasis in routing protocol/ infrastructure. Define, architect, design, and deliver new software and features for the Nexus 7000/5000/3000 platforms. You will be exposed to great design methodologies using finite state machines and various in-house tools/libraries. Work also involves providing constant feedback to hardware and software teams for improvements. Write complete functional and design specs independently. Write portions of product spec. Lead development of subsystems. Design & Develop large portions of software independently and rapidly.

Required Skills:
•Experience in C programming skills.
•In-depth experience designing networking systems with knowledge of routing infrastructure or LAN/WAN protocols.
•Experience in design and development in any of the Layer-3 Unicast routing protocols, multicast routing protocols, MPLS signaling protocols, TCP/IP applications.
•Experience in Layer 2 switching protocols (any of the following protocols; VLAN, LACP,STP,IGMP, Multicast)
•Hands on experience on switch/router hardware/software embedded system environment.
•Strong problem solving and software development/troubleshooting skills.
•MSEE/CS with 5+ years or BSEE/CS with 7+ years of related experience is required.
