[KITlist-Tech] Staff Firmware Engineer (Milpitas, CA)

In this position, the individual will be responsible for analyzing, designing, implementing and debugging firmware for the next generation of Enterprise SSDs. The successful candidate will be a key contributor to the PCIe interface firmware and play a significant role in delivering next generation Enterprise SSDs to market. The candidate will work with the firmware leads, ASIC and driver teams on a daily basis, and will help specify the firmware/driver programming interface needed to achieve best in class performance goals.

This position requires a BS CS or EE minimum, MS preferred. Minimum 8-10 years experience in embedded firmware development on PCI/PCIe based storage products. Must be proficient in all aspects of PCIe, NVM Express and SCSI standards. Must have strong problem solving skills; experience using PCIe protocol analyzers for debug preferred. Embedded C++ and assembly language experience required. A track record of significant individual achievement in firmware development. Demonstrated ability to work independently and deliver on schedule and to specification. Must be self-motivated and self-directed, and in addition demonstrated the ability and desire to work in a team environment to meet individual and shared goals. Experience with ARM and distributed multi-processor architectures preferred. Working knowledge of the Microsoft software development tools and methods. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
