Job Description:
Immediate opening on a 12 month contract for a senior electrical engineer to design and develop mixed signal circuits and implement high speed communication links.The successful candidate will be involved in the development of mass spectrometry systems as part of the Team. Creates competitive advantage through high-impact technology, driving market leadership and growth in core businesses and expanding measurement footprint into adjacent markets. At the cross-roads of the organization, Labs is able to identify and enable synergies across businesses to create competitive differentiation and compelling customer value.
Core responsibilities for this position include:
- Design and develop mixed signal circuits at the board level.
- Simulate, design and implement high speed communication links.
- Create detail schematics and documentation for boards and systems and support those parts through fabrication.
- Supervise layout personnel in the design of mixed signal, high speed PCAs.
- FPGA programming.
- Write test software.
- Assemble, debug and test prototype electrical systems and boards.
- Take responsibility for assigned projects from inception to completion
- Maintain appropriate laboratory notebooks, write research reports, periodically present work to the R&D team as well as to the management team.
- Support preparation of patent applications to protect proprietary technology
Job Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors or masters in electrical engineering or equivalent
- 5+ years' experience
- Experience implementing high speed serial links.
- Strong knowledge on HyperLynx.
- Experience with Xilinx FPGAs.
- Familiar with Mentor Expedition/DxDesigner.
- Familiar with Python.
- Ability to design, assemble, test and debug circuit boards and electrical systems for analytical instrument systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Enthusiasm for working in a diverse, demanding, collaborative, and exciting technology environment
- Demonstrated initiative and creativity
- Strong work ethic and team player attributes
