PRODUCT MANAGER in SECURITY
Cisco Systems Access Routing Technology Group delivers customer‐relevant IT infrastructure and
application products for remote office deployments (Bank Branches, Retail Stores, etc) by integrating several Cisco technologies into a cohesive solution. The flagship product line of this group is the Integrated Services Router, which is the market leader in this category. You will join a team of bright, dedicated, innovative and results oriented individuals that will lead market transitions and
deliver innovative solutions for an evolving market place.
About this Job:
Successful Product Managers love interacting with customers and are comfortable communicating both business benefits as well as technical details of the products they are responsible for product managing, they have the ability to clearly articulate complex and abstract ideas to the development team by generating product requirements, and they possess the presence and leadership to make a topnotch sales force successful. You will be part of a team responsible for the crafting security software strategy and roadmap for ISR product lines.
Key responsibilities of this role include:
• Develop and own security technology strategies.
• Develop security business model requirements and plan roadmaps through direct customer
interaction, market research, quantitative opportunity sizing, competitive analysis, and by working with
the sales force.
• Manage and lead cross‐functional business relationship, with other Business groups for
development of new security software and service capabilities on ISR product lines.
• Partner with sales on pricing, market development, field solutions, and competitive selling to support
customer deals and drive sales.
• Manage product lifecycle including tracking customer wins, upcoming deals and presenting product
bookings and forecasts at monthly business unit review meetings.
• Prepare and execute on go‐to‐market plans, including pricing, sales training, and marketing.
• Creating and delivering all aspects of key outbound marketing collateral including; data sheets writtenvand video, product announcements, newsletters, datasheets, product presentations for business and technical decision makers, positioning, end‐of‐sales, content for webinars and other outbound marketing events
• Present product and roadmap updates at various venues including industry trade shows, Sales Virtual Meetings, Enterprise Technical Advisory Boards and customer executive briefings.
About You:
• 5‐10 years of prior experience in product management, specializing in security.
• In depth knowedge of security technology
• Demonstrate Security industry (retail/banking, etc) awareness and trends. Experience managing and/or
developing software business models in a software or networking firm.
• Proven business and analytical skills to conduct market analysis, product strategy, product definition,
competitive analysis, product pricing, and forecasting.
• Outstanding communication skills with ability to formulate and deliver highly complex presentations
to a business or technical audience.
• High energy, a willingness to work in a fast‐paced environment and demonstrated ability to meet or
beat assigned targets and deadlines consistently
• Outstanding ability to work cross‐functionally (Team/BU) and with customers.
• Have a BSEE/CS or equivalent. A Masters degree and/or MBA are highly valued.
• Must be willing to travel up to 25%
