[KITlist-Tech] Software Engineer with P2P Network Experience (Silicon Valley, CA)

We are a venture backed startup developing a distributed data collaboration platform for use in digital content production. We are a group of dedicated and experienced individuals from the Entertainment industry that are looking to help shape how content is shared and used in a new global market.

We are looking for an experienced software engineer who has a strong background in network programming and a willingness to come in and "own" our existing networking code. Having experience developing P2P type systems, TCP/UDP performance optimizations and familiarity with NAT traversal implementations are a must. You should be comfortable with multi-threaded C/C++ and writing software that runs on Windows, OSX and Linux.

Technical skills/Experience
BS in computer science (or equivalent experience)
5+ years of experience developing in C / C++
Experienced with Socket level network communication protocols (UDP/TCP)
Database knowledge (SQL)
Comfortable with developing multi-threaded applications
Experience writing P2P communication system
Experience writing platform independent applications (software that runs on Windows/OSX/Linux)

Organizational Discipline

• Must be able to work autonomously with clear communication and accountability
• Must be comfortable with communication via Skype / Instant Messaging / email, with a distributed development team.
• Must be pro-active and seek out tasks. Must have a "can-do" attitude

Availability and Compensation

Ideally the candidate would be available on a full time basis. The company can accommodate a part time employee if we can better understand the availability schedule.
