Online advertising is the fuel that drives the digital economy. The Yahoo! Advertising Product Management Group is looking for an exceptionally strong individual contributor and seasoned Product Manager, who will be responsible for defining and delivering new processes, tools and solutions that improve core Global Ad Sales workflow efficiencies – from account analysis and campaign optimization to opportunity identification and performance monitoring.
Successful candidates will have a passion for building useful, data-driven software and ideally will have relevant experience in digital advertising, knowledge of the online marketing landscape, and familiarity with large-scale advertiser or SEM needs and problems. This candidate will have the ability to work effectively across large multi-functional, global organizations as this position will require close collaboration across regions and product teams as well as partnering with sales, engineering, marketing, business operations and finance. Successful candidates will demonstrate thought leadership, be well organized, and possess the ability to communicate clearly and confidently to peers, customers, internal stakeholders and senior management.
Direct Responsibilities:
• Work with internal Y! Sales customers and their clients to understand and document their unique business & technical requirements
• Write functional specification and work with a dedicated development, service and quality engineering teams to deliver
• Define global and regional advertiser customer segments, user personas, and needs
• Define the product capabilities required to meet the needs of the target segment
• Develop business cases to evaluate the financial opportunity and determine whether we should build or outsource for needed or desired functionality
• Drive roadmap prioritization for Global Sales Tools team
• Understand, document and share the competitive landscape within the product areas of focus
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor´s degree required – technical disciplines preferred. MBA preferred.
• 5+ years in product management or product marketing with Internet, software, or related technology company, with track record of increasing responsibilities
• Experience with defining a product from concept stage through launch and maintenance
• Experience writing concise & complete product requirements, user scenarios, and problem statements
• Strong problem-solving capabilities evidenced by a proven ability to quantitatively and qualitatively analyze product concepts and strategic opportunities
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to motivate and influence business leaders, and technology leaders within a matrixed organization
• Passion for creating world-class business solutions that enable high-performance online advertising
• Strong customer orientation
• Must be proactive
• Experience with SEM & SEO concepts and familiarity working with Search Advertising Agencies a plus
