Title: Network Engineer
Location: San Jose, CA
Duration: 6+ months contract, renewed quarterly

Client seeking an outstanding candidate who has a customer-centric view of client solutions, and how these solutions can be developed into compelling and engaging demonstrations. In this position, candidate will be part of a team that has responsibilities for understanding key customer business issues, and translating these into potential solutions that Client would be able to provide and showcase via compelling business scenario demonstrations. Working collaboratively with an extended team of other technical engineers and industry and solutions marketing experts, candidate will identify appropriate customer-facing demonstrations to build, develop a roadmap of these demonstrations, along with architecting and implementing these solutions-based demonstrations. These demonstrations will be delivered primarily through virtual demonstrations on a global basis, but will also be built and delivered through mobile demonstrations, as well as in person through the Industry Briefing Center. Candidate may also be a speaker for these demonstrations, sharing with customers and prospects the business issues addressed by the solutions shown.

Desired Skills & Experience:
* BSCS or BSEE or equivalent plus 3-5 years related experience
* Technical engineering experience with breadth of Cisco solutions (Data, Voice, Video, Wireless, and Security)
* Hands-on experience in configuring, testing, troubleshooting, and integration of Cisco solutions with third-party systems)
* Customer engagement experience in working with customers and prospects, especially executive level decision makers. Field sales experience highly desirable
* Good presentation and communications (verbal and written) skills is a must
* In-depth understanding of Cloud Computing, SaaS models of software distribution, Business Video, Video conferencing and Web based applications such as scheduling and directory portals is of high value. Ideally the candidate will have experience with a video/web conferencing or exchange environment and drive interoperability moving forward
* Working knowledge of Business Video systems is a key asset
* Detailed knowledge and proficiency in data plane protocols such as SIP, H.323, H.264, security and policy engines and principles
* Advanced knowledge of Ethernet technology, 100BaseT, Gigabit Ethernet, CWDM, DWDM, LAN, WAN network design and an understanding of all OSI layers from application to physical
* Advanced Layer-2 experience/knowledge in VLANs, stacked switches, QinQ, dot1q and VLLs
* Advanced Layer-3 experience/knowledge in IP Multicasting, OSPF, RIP, ISIS, EIGRP, SNMP and BGP
* Advanced experience/knowledge in Cisco Unified Computing System with VMware technology
* Proficiency in supporting Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7
* Advanced Server support skills and understanding of Windows 2003 and 2008
* Works under minimal to no supervision on all projects, however your Marketing Manager and/or team lead will identify and/or review progress on content deliverables on an on-going basis
* Ability to work cross-functionally and gain cooperation of others
* Ability to multi-task
* CCNP and/or CCNP Voice Preferred
