Job Summary: Under minimal supervision, provides IT support for the Platform Group (within the Center for Innovation). the employee in this job will be responsible for the IT infrastructure for the team including the analysis, design, development, implementation and maintenance.

The employee will also be responsible for developing and implementing plans for platform applications security systems that anticipate, identify, evaluate, mitigate, and minimize risks associated with platform application systems´ vulnerabilities. Implements security programs designed to anticipate, assess, and minimize system vulnerabilities.

The employee will also be developing and integrating on premise solutions with cloud applications.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Plans, builds, and runs a quickly growing IT Linux environment consisting of physical and virtual infrastructure
• Builds and administering IT Linux service and systems consisting Build systems that are scalable, efficient, reliable, and well-documented
• Identifies, automates and implements processes in place that ensure supportability of IT Linux service: documentation, procedures, etc.
• Project manages Linux hardware and software inventory
• Project manages monitoring solutions for all IT systems, including Linux, windows, storage, and services
• Provides standards on server configuration, test servers prior to moving into production - prepare transition plans for major upgrades or patches
• Diagnoses and resolves unique and complex systems problems

Internal/External Contacts
• Work closely with business applications teams to ensure that customer satisfaction is high

Essential Job Requirements (Minimum Education and Experience):
• Bachelor´s degree in Computer Science or related field with minimum of 5 years administering Linux systems in a production environment
• Proven ability to quickly learn and implement unfamiliar technologies
• Configuration and maintenance of common applications such as Apache, Oracle, VMware, MySQL, NFS, DHCP, NTP, SSH, DNS, and SNMP
• Proven experience running Linux in a virtualized environment using VMWare, Xen, CENTOS, UBUNTU, Oracle
• Prior experience supporting business applications running on Linux: Oracle, Microstrategy, Service-Now
● Prior experience building Linux systems with NAS and SAN attached
● Proven knowledge of Linux kernel configuration, performance monitoring, and tuning
● Experience coding in one of the following languages: Shell, Python or Perl
● Delivers on multiple projects within specific timeframes with minimum supervision
● Experience in building Disaster Recovery procedures for critical corporate systems and participation in Infrastructure Change Management processes is a must

Work Environment
• Participates in 24/7 on call support rotation and manage support ticket queue
• Ability to thrive in extremely fast paced and high-pressure environment
