Wind River is looking for a Senior Product Manager to manage the model software library for Wind River Simics, a full system simulator. This role is a unique combination of business development, product marketing, and product management. It requires working with 3rd party hardware and semiconductor vendors, inbound product management in liaison with a geographically distributed engineering organization, and ongoing communication with the sales field involving customer meeting and events.
Responsibilities:
-Manage and prioritize the creation and release of new hardware models for the Simics model library (virtual models of actual hardware) based on market demand
-Drive the execution of product and business strategy with hardware vendors (in particular, semiconductor and board vendors) to enable the creation of Simics models. This includes managing product-related partnerships with key semiconductor manufacturers.
-Identify the hardware components that are necessary to support to ensure the success of Wind River Simics in key verticals
-Develop market and product requirements documents and business justifications for specific development efforts.
-Effectively communicate Wind River Simics Library support plans both internally and externally
-Manage prioritization and synchronization of projects within engineering groups
Requirements:
-5-10 years' experience in the domains of electronics equipment and embedded software or firmware.
-3-5 year's technical product management/product marketing experience (semiconductor vendor experience is a plus)
-Experience in project management for software projects
-Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle.
-Candidate must be an energetic self-starter with demonstrated leadership and strong communication skills as well as cross-functional management skills
-BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related area
-MBA is a plus
Candidate must exhibit strong understanding of the following technical areas:
-Embedded operating systems like Linux or VxWorks, board-support packages (BSP), or Firmware
-Technical understanding of CPU architectures and theirs associated chipsets, SoCs, and system design (in particular, ARM, MIPS, PowerPC, and Intel IA).
-Electronic System-Level design tools (as a plus)
-Hardware bring up (JTAG/ICE tools)
