Self-motivated and hands-on individual to assist in the Build and Test environment of the Operations Group. Individual will be responsible for coding and maintenance of build scripts, automation and build console provided as a service to Qualys Engineering and Operations teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensure availability of the Build Console for all users
• Track and resolve tickets opened against the Build System
• Design, implement and maintain build automation processes and automation.
• Provide build metrics to management
• Ensure continuous integration (CI) practice is enforced for all products
• Automate acceptance testing as part of the build process.
QUALIFICATIONS
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with SVN or CVS administration
• Familiarity with Continuous Integration techniques and tools
• Experience with build automation on linux (90%) and windows (10%)
• Experience with building projects that use C, C++, Java, perl, shell scripts
• Perl and Shell Scripting
• HTML / CGI / CSS
• Basic SQL/mysql
• Thorough understanding of code branching in a multi-user environment
• Understanding of the software development cycle
• Good understanding of Virtualization technologies - VMware ESX/vSphere/vCenter, Xen Hypervisor etc.
• Must be a critical thinker with excellent verbal and written skills.
• Must be able to work well under pressure and within tight deadlines and be pro-active with build service issues.
• Proven track record of being able to adapt to and learn new forms of technology, new operating systems and software.
• Ability to do Root Cause Analysis for build failures
• Ability to install and configure a variety of services such as IIS, LAMP, Oracle, MS-SQL Server, MySQL, Cisco IOS, etc.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS
• Working knowledge of Cloud-based Virtualization Services like Amazon EC2, RackSpace etc
• Latest Build and Automation tools
• Experience with linux/unix based package managers - rpm/yum, apt/dpkg etc
