MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER - ROBOTIC MECHANISM DESIGN (CONTRACTOR)

Our long term client, Acorn Product Development, is a top innovator in product design and engineering for global manufacturability. Acorn has offices in Silicon Valley, Boston and China. Fortune 100 and 500 and numerous hot start-ups -- hire this client company to participate in the design of their newest offerings. Acorn focuses its design talents on Consumer Products, Computing, Medical Devices and Networking products.

This immediate contractor requirement is located in Fremont, CA (Silicon Valley!)

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• BSME or higher.
• Robotics experience.
• Hands on Active 3-D CAD Modeling/Design skills using SolidWorks!
• Motor + gear train experience.
• Slip clutch design experience.
• Self sufficient and good team member.
• Good communication skills.
• US Citizenship or Green Card Required.

DESIRABLE BACKGROUND:

• Mechatronics background.
• Design of seals against water entry.
• Design for manufacturability (mid to high volume).
• Design of plastic injection molding for cosmetics, structure.
• Design of die casted parts.
• Thermal understanding.
• Structural FEA.
• Thermal analysis experience.
