Linux Systems Administrator
Pleasanton, CA
3+ Month Contract to Hire

Buxton Consulting is seeking an experienced Linux Systems Administrator for their growing software solutions client in the Pleasanton, CA.

Scope of Responsibilities/Expectations
• Help support engineers in a non-production environment
• Install/support new servers in a datacenter as needed
• Configure and troubleshoot Linux OS issues (CentOS)
• Assist in new server deployment, management and support

Specific Knowledge/Skills
• Minimum 7 yrs Unix/Linux System Administration experience
• Experience supporting large and complex Data Centers, Engineering Labs, and QA Environment
• Disaster recovery experience is preferred
• Must be proficient with Apache Tomcat installation and support
• Experience working with MySQL
• Experience building and supporting virtualized servers and data centers (VMware) is a plus
• Experience with scripting languages such as Shell or Perl
• Experience with BIOS upgrades
• Knowledge of Dell Servers preferred
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience working with Bamboo is a plus
• Experience working with Chef configuration management is a plus
