Role: Platform WebKit Browser Engineer

Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Webkit Development engineer to help us add support for web technologies to our eReader software platform. This includes the Rendering Engine, DOM Tree parser, and overall SW enablers. The individual will modify Webkit to leverage platform-specific features that could improve performance and ensure our SW platform offers a highly optimized browser runtime. Additionally the individual will be responsible for benchmarking and analysis at different levels of development and on silicon performance measurements associated with various standalone and concurrent use cases (across modem, multimedia, peripheral subsystems etc.).

Please note: This is not a web page or application developer position.

Requirements

• Experience with WebKit internals (especially layout and rendering, but also other areas such as the loader, cache etc.)
• Experience with porting webkit to new platforms
• Experience with development for mobile platforms
• Ideal candidate would be a contributor to the webkit project
• Expert level knowledge of Mozilla development framework
• Deep knowledge of web browser internals (Gecko / WebKit)
• Knowledge of web display technologies (HTML, CSS, Javascript, XHTML, DHTML, XML, SVG)
• Familiarity with web transport protocols (HTTP, HTTPS, SSL)
• Excellent Javascript programming and debugging skills
• Experience developing on Linux or other *NIX variant
