This candidate will be responsible for the development and maintenance of InstallShield and Windows Installer projects as well as shared management of source control and build environments.
Description
This candidate will be responsible for the development and maintenance of InstallShield and Windows Installer projects as well as shared management of source control and build environments. You will do all of the software packaging for this development team and be responsible for release management. The KEY is that you must be very strong in InstallShield development and scripting. An excellent candidate will have at least 5+ years with InstallShield /Windows Installer, configuration management, release management, strong scripting. You will demonstrate experience developing and maintaining build environments, experience defining and implementing processes and procedures for managing changes and patches and releasing product ,and configuration management tools. You must be able to systematically debug failed builds and installs and track it to root cause whenever possible. You will work with development teams in troubleshooting build issues. It is important that you are self-motivated and proactive in a fast-paced, dynamic, rapid-development environment.
Requirements
Bachelor´s degree in Computer Science / Engineering or a related field
6+ years of experience, certification/training or skills in operating systems, networks, development environments, architecture design, software design and methodologies, project management, and software configuration management
5 + years InstallShield / Windows Installer development, scripting experience (VBScript, Jscript, etc…)
Build Management (C#, C++)
Linux experience
Other skills that would be an added advantage include:
Experience with process automation using scripting languages
Shell
NAnt
Python
Experience in SCM tools (e.g. Perforce) for managing, labeling, branching and collapsing source code
Experience developing software products targeted for multiple OS (Windows 7, Vista, etc.) and platform configurations.
