Staff Software Engineer
The Staff SW Engineer is responsible for the design and development of key components that interface ActiveVideoTM video streaming components to the outside world. Broadly, these components manage video session resources and client interactions, and include development of simulators and automated test tools.
Qualifications:
• 10+ years experience in requirements analysis, design, coding, and unit testing of scalable, distributed, fault-tolerant software components and applications
• Strong development skills in C++ (Boost), Java (Netty, Maven, Eclipse), and scripting languages, such as Python
• Has in-depth experience with:
o Network/streaming protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, RTSP, SIP)
o Web services, streaming servers, and distributed data processing
o CentOS/RedHat Linux OS, including Spacewalk/Satellite, RPMs
o Virtualization technologies (VMWare, KVM, Xen)
o Agile development model and test-driven development
• Results–oriented with a delivery focus
• Problem-solver with a keen ability to analyze problems and think creatively to develop solutions
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal form
Education:
• BS/MS in CS or associated field preferred
