The position
In order to lead our engineering team and the development of our products, we are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented senior developer with successful experience in building and growing an engineering team.
The role is both strategic and operational, and requires a strong ability to build and maintain high quality products and get the best out of highly skilled engineers.
As part of CFEngine management team, the position also demands a good understanding of a start-up like environment, proven team-player abilities and excellent communication skills. It will involve close collaboration with the CTO and Director of Products and Services.
The position is based in Oslo and part of the engineering team will be located elsewhere, currently including California.
Requirements
*You have a proven track-record in building and growing successful teams of developers in a Unix/Linux environment
*You can work hands-on and you will enjoy creating code on the CFEngine Core (C-language) and guiding the development of the Front-end components (PHP, Ajax)
*You are used to providing content for technical trainings
*You have excellent communication skills that allow you to create an open environment with all your co-workers
*You are solution-oriented and you will be able to closely and constructively co-operate with our CTO and Director of Products and Services to ensure that all products are designed, developed and implemented according to CFEngine standards and philosophy
*You have successfully held budget responsibilities
*You understand the challenges inherent to growing a cross-border as well as multicultural company and you want to turn these challenges into success
*You have a good knowledge of C/Unix programming and you enjoy working on large development projects
Desired skill set and profile
*International experience (working, living abroad) including working with multi cultural colleagues.
*Open Source contributor experience desirable
