[KITlist-Tech] Technical Education Consultant – Engineering (Seattle, WA)

Isilon is looking for a top caliber learning and development and/or engineering professional to fill this role. In this role you will lead the engineering teams training and development initiatives, specifically focused on on-boarding and development of new Engineering Employees and an Engineering Intern program. This is a hands-on, individual contributor position with an opportunity to create and deliver a full curriculum of training and development programs implemented across a broad range of modality. Specific responsibilities include:

* Develop and deliver high level training of new hires in dev, test, and pm. This includes ownership and maintenance of the on-boarding process and associated resources such as the new hire wiki pages, slide decks, etc.
* Develop, program manage, and deliver portions of Isilon's Engineering 101 training, new hire on-boarding and intern education.
* Work with Isilon Engineering leadership to conduct needs assessments/gap analysis.
* Identify a go forward learning and development strategy for engineering roles with learning maps by role and level.
* Develop and manage learning curriculum and roll out new programs on an as needed basis to build expertise and accelerate the development of the engineering employees.
* Develop training courses to enable engineering subject matter experts to deliver identified technical content
* Act as the liaison between engineering and other Isilon organizations that are the consumers of engineering training and materials
* Identify and implement best methodologies for training delivery (i.e. web-based, classroom, etc.)
* Evaluate program(s) effectiveness on an on-going basis. Develop reporting metrics, ROI of programs.

Qualifications: Education and Experience

* A minimum of 5 years in engineering, learning and development, and/or product management experience; 5+ years of significant program management experience within a corporate environment.
* Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience in software/hardware technology environment; master's degree strongly preferred.
* Strong understanding of enterprise storage software, including network-attached storage and storage area networking is preferred.
* Technical depth and expertise required to interact in detail with product management, engineering and solutions teams for interpretation into training and curriculum development.
* Experience in instructional design, adult learning theory, e-learning, classroom learning and experience working with SMEs in the design of learning programs.
* Experience conducting organizational level, program level, and individual level needs analysis to identify development needs and target program development.
* Experience designing and delivering on-boarding development programs and new hire training.
* Excellent presentation skills; analytical and problem solving abilities, working with all levels of an organization.
* Knowledge of technological training delivery platforms.
